Yet another wildfire

We have had 4 wildfires in 3 weeks here in Larimer County!  This latest one is the High Park Fire.  It was reported yesterday morning around 6am and as of 11:30am today it was over 14000 acres!  It is officially the largest wildfire on record in Larimer County.  We are far enough away that we're not in any danger, but the smoke plume is huge and we can smell it when the wind is right.

Here is a picture from yesterday around lunch time (taken about 5 miles east of our house, looking southwest).

Looking at the sun through the smoke (same location).

Today, I took some pictures of the smoke looking to the southwest from our house.  It looks like the fire has made it to Lory State Park.  On my way home from church, I could see the fire lines in the foothills.  As you can see from the tree, we have a stiff west wind that is not very helpful.

Smoke in the sky looking east away from the fire.  The pictures don't do the red and orange hues any justice.

We've contacted our friends in that area and offered to help evacuate any animals.  We're still waiting to see what else we can do.
