The Long Walk Home

My view for the whole ride - good looking pony!
We went North to Soapstone Prairie for a trailride this morning.  Owen ran his 15 miles in blistering heat, and we three girls moseyed along the 10 mile trail on horseback.  Cecil did great, almost made the whole ride through cattle without bolting.  At the last minute he lost his cool and took off, but he ran more slowly and stopped sooner than ever before!  Guess we need another trip to the neighbor's to chase cows.  They may be more intimidating in open spaces.
Cecil is eyeballing the cow viewed as a small black speck in the upper L corner

We love trailriding!

The little haflinger did his best to keep up but he's a slow walker

The progression from walking just behind the other horses, to falling back, to being way behind.  He tried hard, but the little horse has short legs!

This really captures the pony's thoughts on the day - his longest walk ever.
