We have had SO MUCH rain for us here in the last couple weeks, and then today we had a warm afternoon. There's nothing like basking in the warm wet clay...
People pay good money for full body mud beauty treatments, you know.

Munching on the Hay Bale
I finally was able to get some big round bales (about 1250# each) to feed my horses. My hay guy delivered them for me, and I forgot to tell him how deceptively wet our pasture was, and his rig got stuck. What should have been a 20 min unloading job ended up taking 2 hours as we tried to get him out of the mud using first my tractor, then my truck in 4wd low. We did get him out and on his way, and he did promise to keep bringing me hay, so all is well that ends well.

When your horse looks like a hamster...... Call the vet!
This is his face normally
Woke up this morning to poor Cecil's swollen face. Because of the reaction he's having it seems most likely that it's a rattlesnake bite, but we're not sure because we can't find any marks from the fangs. The vet came out first thing and we got a bunch of medications on board, now we just wait to see if the swelling goes down and he continues to be able to breathe, and watch for any serum. Poor guy!
