Fire Update

These are a couple pictures of how things have looked the past few days.  The fire has grown to about 50,000 acres, has jumped the Poudre River and jumped Hwy 14.  There are more evacuations further North and West, though there has been a good fire line established on the East side and people have been allowed to go back home on the South side.  The three horses that were here went home yesterday, as did my friend with her cat.  There is still smoke at their place and the hills all around them are black, but at least the fire is contained on that end.  We are still safe at our place, and we are still on call for providing a place for evacuated horses.  Trying not to watch the news too much since it just hyper-dramatizes everything and who needs extra drama around something like this?  Today I took Major for a trailride on the farm and ponied the haflinger off of him, with Miles the dog leading the way.  The wind has been better for us today, not so much smoke at our place.  We're grateful for our location while still praying for those who have lost their homes and those who don't yet know if their homes are lost.
